Above all, I am a filmmaker. My thesis film "Pedestrian," an experimental psychological thriller about a child predator, was supported by the Panavision New Filmmaker Program and premiered at the Coney Island Film Festival in 2013, one of MovieMaker Magazine's "25 Coolest Film Festivals" that same year. My sophomore year student film "Terminations," an experimental drama about a young woman's choice to have an abortion, was nominated for Best Short Film at the 10th Annual Female Eye Film Festival. I am currently preparing to direct two music videos.
I began working as a professional freelancer in post-production for various clients at Time Inc Studios in 2010, and steadily moved up from loader to assistant editor to editor. I've also edited short videos for a handful of clients outside of Time Inc, and assistant edited feature-length work. Notable experiences include editing videos for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Essence Music Festival, People Magazine, Time Magazine, and assistant editing award-winning narrative feature Forged and documentary feature Wild Home. At the moment, I'm particularly interested in long-form work and generally expanding my network and getting to know other post production houses in the area.
I began working as a professional freelancer in the art department when I graduated from SVA in 2012. Notable experiences include mastering the props on "Saturday Night Live" and independent feature Back In the Day featuring Michael Madsen and Danny Glover, decorating an Optimum Online commercial, and designing notable short films, music videos and commercials.
I've assistant directed two short films, one commercial and many student films, and am interested in gaining more experience in the AD department.
Another passionate hobby of mine is curating film programs: "Audio Visuals" in 2015, a program of music videos made by local filmmakers, and "Local Filmmakers Showcase" at Videology in Williamsburg.
I grew up in Alexandria, VA and shot and edited my first videos when I was 12 years old. I won national awards for my drawings and paintings in high school, and local awards for my accomplishments in Darkroom Photography and TV Production class. I moved to New York in 2008 to pursue a BFA in Film and Video Directing at School of VIsual Arts, which I received in 2012. I currently live in Brooklyn with roommates.
